Subject: Longhorn Council Recharter Status Report
Dear District Commissioners and Assistant Council Commissioners,
[cid:image003.jpg@01D8E2E2.7B48BB40]
Attached is the first of many LHC Recharter Status Reports. Please review your District Units status. As of today, only 72 out of 423 units have logged into the Internet Recharter 2.0 module. That is not good. We should be seeing well over 250 units logged in by now. As you know, it’s all about the Unit Key 3 communication. By now, you should have held at least two recharter trainings for your District. In addition, you should have sent at least five recharter communications to your Unit Key 3 Leaders. Unit recharter is due November 15, 2022, for all LHC units and the LHC deadline is December 31, 2022.
Your October Communications:
1. You sent the recharter deck to all District Key 3 Leaders including the Recharter Delegates.
2. You sent reminders about your Recharter training(s).
3. You likely attended Roundtable or will attend RT and discuss portions of the PPT training deck I sent to you.
4. You sent reminders about logging into Internet Recharter 2.0 and reviewing the unit roster.
5. You sent reminders about YPT, specifically about adults who have a YPT expiring during 2023.
6. You included recharter updates in your monthly newsletter.
7. You sent reminders to units who still have a UMC Charter Organization and explained that the unit cannot complete recharter until the unit has a new charter org.
8. You visited your District Commissioner Tools Dashboard and sent an update with units who have started / not started the recharter process.
9. Next step requires all DC’s to jump on the phone this week and speak with the Committee Chair of each unit who has not started the recharter process.
10. Don’t forget to log simple assessments when you correspond with Key 3 Leaders regarding recharter. Recharter is the perfect time for UC’s to contact units.
Key 3 Simple Reminders:
* All Units should be collecting recharter dues for 2023. If you have units who have not started collecting membership dues and have not given a dues deadline, the unit is behind.
* All Committee Chairs or Recharter Delegates need to login to the Internet Recharter 2.0. Please see the attached District Renewal Status Report.
* All Units need to pull a YPT report to determine which adults have YPT that will expire during 2023.
* Unit Recharter is due to Longhorn Council by November 15th.
Nice Work Arrowhead District, Mustang District and Orion District for a QUICK START initiating recharter!
Please reach out to me or your DE if you need support.

Subject: Recharter update
Good Evening!
By now, your unit commissioners should have contacted their units and have the name of the unit’s contact person. I ask that you forward these names to me and Scot.
This will prevent more phone calls than necessary if there is an issue. The units should also know that YPT must be updated and to not wait to begin the computer process.
We are expecting all recharters to be submitted by November 15th. This allows for processing at the service center and if there is a problem it can be addressed with plenty of time to spare.
If you are having trouble with UCs getting contact info, please let me know.
October is half over and that means one month left to get this done. It is achievable. If the above happens, the holidays will be much more enjoyable and less time spent on the phone.
Have a great weekend!
Angela

No worries Ed, we will catch you next time.

Please excuse me for not attending our meeting last evening. I’ve been ill for a few days and lost track.

Thanks Brian! Good news all around. I'll also be a Score-O next week.
Roundtable will be both virtual and in-person this month. Hopefully, I won't forget my power adaptor this month :)
There will be breakouts this month. I'll send out the newsletter Tuesday with the Zoom link.
YIS,
Tom

All my fellow Commissioners,
I am sorry that I did not attend the zoom last night. I am out of town. I thought I would get back to my hotel in time to tune in but I did not. Let me know if I need to do anything specific. Units 151 and 3 are doing good and I have visited them all last month. I plan to be at SCORO and visit them again. I think they are beginning to trust me, that I am there to help not criticize. I plan to have a cub Round Table next week. I plan to stress getting early start on Recharter to my units this month. Most are engaged in fund raising activities.
I have one question, Is RT going be both virtual and in person or just in person?
