I missed the meeting, but caught up with Pat Browder and got the information for you:
Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you. I hope you are doing well. During the
training meeting we discussed the current state of trained leaders in each district and
overall in the Council. We have been working on a mission statement for the training. I
will send out the one we are still working on in the next week and a half. At this time
the Lone Star district has a 55% overall trained leaders. Your district needs to focus on
pack committee members and troop new member coordinators. Currently the Council is
sitting at 60.1% trained leaders with the Executive Board wanting us to be at 70% by the
end of the year. The Districts range anywhere from 49.1% to 82% trained leaders. The
Santa Fe, Brazos Valley, Trinity Trails and Arrowhead districts are offering IOLS/BALOO in
October if you know of anyone that is in need of those. We are offering Pack Committee,
Troop Committee, and SM Specifics at UOS. Dustin Wyatt, the Lone Star training Chair, was
scheduled to teach the Pack Committee training. I am currently looking for someone to
take his place, if you have any ideas. I hope this helps. I will send the next agenda to
you when I have it finished.

Greetings Paula,
Thank you for the introduction and welcome to the Lonestar District!
My name is Lee Sperry and I am a unit Commissioner who doubles at times as the Assistant
District Commissioner. Our District Commissioner is Charlie Dodds (cc’d) and Ryan is our
temporary DE but has many other titles at the Council. As Ryan’s note to the membership
implies, we are a bit thin at the District level but with lots of dedicated scouters
working directly with the youth at the unit level. I does appear that there is no one to
attend the meeting noted by Ryan below (including myself who is helping out one of our
newest units at an event tonight), so we would be very appreciative if you could rep the
LS District at this meeting. It does seem to have a teleconference option should you
wish.
Again, welcome and thank you.
Yours in Scouting,

If you don’t find anyone else, let me know and I can attend.
Maybe I should introduce myself, first. Paula Church, I have been active in Scouts for
24+ years, mostly Santa Fe with a few years in Brazos Valley. I moved to Fort Worth a few
years ago, so I am actually in Lone Star District, but have not been involved at the
District level for a while (but I could do Leave No Trace for IOLS/BALOO). I mostly do
Council and National level trainings now for Leave No Trace.

Good Afternoon Lone Star District!
I am looking for some assistance.
Tomorrow evening, at 7 pm the Council Training Committee will be hosting their monthly
Training Committee meeting.
The meeting can be attended via teleconference.
I am hoping someone in the district would be willing to attend the meeting and take some
notes on upcoming key priorities for training responsibilities.
It would be great if you could bring those to the District committee meeting next month
to review with us, but if not, forward those notes and have a quick debrief conversation
meeting with me so I can provide a full report to the district committee in October.
I am double booked tomorrow evening and cannot attend, otherwise I would be present for
the meeting.
Please let me know if you are able to attend and help out district team.
Thanks
Ryan
