District Commissioners,
I received a communication today reporting that Internet Advancement is down. Specifically, ACH payments are not being accepted and LHC is temporarily locked out. National is working on the issue and we are hopeful that it will be fixed today, weekend at the latest. Please communicate to your Unit Key 3. Units can finish up on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
We still have 61 Units who have not initiated recharter. Please reach out to those units. We have 165 Units who have initiated Recharter but have not completed the process. Hopefully, they are planning to complete the process next week, prior to December 22nd. As always, LHC will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
The Annual Charter Partner Agreement collection is improving. All Districts should be at 80% or above with 16 days to go.
Thank you ALL for your hard work! Recharter is never easy, but you are calm and getting it done. Communication is the Key!

Today is International Volunteer Day! Thank you to all of the volunteers in the Lone Star District of the Boy Scouts of America who are devoted to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the Scout Oath and Law values.
Next Thursday December 14th will be the last Roundtable of the year (newsletter coming next week), and the final one as District Commissioner as my two year term is ending in January. It's been my pleasure and honor to help.
Yours in Scouting,

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. Units have to opportunity to make their 2024 Investment in Character goals and not need an IC presentation. There are resources for a social media campaign and link to 2024 online pledge form here:

NOTE TO ALL: It may seem confusing, but in the Longhorn Council YPT certification is required yearly. National will list your expiration as 2 years out, but you will not be able to recharter without your expiration date being in 2025.Spread the word to all of your units.
I will soon be rechartering the Merit Badge Counselors. Your YPT must be updated as well as any special certifications required for particular MBs.
