At the Annual Business Meeting last night, the Nominating Committee announced that they are recommending Charlies Dodds to the Council for confirmation as the next District Commissioner of the Lone Star District.
I meet Charlie last night, he is a longtime Scouter and was formerly District Commissioner in the Orion District area prior to the last district re-organization (forgive me, I believe he said Tonkawa, but it might have been Topsanah). I am certain we will gain much from his experience and I look forward to working with him and will assist in any way I can. Charlie will be taking over as DC as soon as he receives his Commission from Council, and I will transition to Assistant District Commissioner. Also, I wanted to pass along the registration link for NST8 Commissioner College (below). It's being held at TCC in the Old Radio Shack Headquarters where Longhorn Council University of Scouting is held, so it will be very convenient for us to attend.

Today is International Volunteer Day! Thank you to all of the volunteers in the Lone Star District of the Boy Scouts of America who are devoted to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the Scout Oath and Law values.
Next Thursday December 14th will be the last Roundtable of the year (newsletter coming next week), and the final one as District Commissioner as my two year term is ending in January. It's been my pleasure and honor to help.

Hi Y’all –
Here is the Annual Charter Partner Agreement for 2024, that needs to be signed by the Unit Committee Chair and Chartered Organization Representative. If your unit has the same Charter Org and same COR, they only need to fill out one, and I will make copies for each unit to turn in to Stacy. (Ex- 435, 351 and 147 Units)
These are completely fillable, and they can email it/scan it back over to me once they are signed.
I will also be sending out a message to each key 3 about the Annual Charter Partner Agreements as well. Please share and communicate with your units that these need to be signed and turned in to me.
A unit can never be over-communicated.
Let’s make it a goal to get all of these turned in by November 15th before the Holidays start to kick-in.

The Roundtable planning website has recently been updated.

Please make sure to share this as y'all are developing your annual roundtable calendars.
Hopefully out units will be able to take full advantage of our roundtables and walk away from the event with a positive feeling and hopefully some tools, plans and tricks that they can all utilize in their units.
I am also asking for everyone's help in collecting annual calendars from all our units.
I am hoping to collect at least 90% of our units calendars.
If your team is interacting with units that do not have a finalized calendar (thats a huge warning sign) please encourage them to sit with those units to finalize a calendar ASAP!!!
